Escape from the Maze

I’
It was late at night when Josh came home from his first date with Amy. He sat is his parents car going over in his mind what had gone so very wrong. Why hadn't he asked where she would like to go to dinner? If he had, he would have found out she was a vegetarian and that a steak house was not the best place to take her. Then, there was the movie. She wasn't into action films and he wasn't into romantic "mushy stuff" ones. And worst of all, she was dressed in her Sunday best outfit and he wore jeans, a tee shirt and a hoodie. To say the least, it was a disaster. On a happier note, his mind drifted back to early in the morning when he stood in front of the sliding doors of the, "You want it! We have it!" super store. It was his first day as their newest weekend cashier. Everything had gone so well, especially when he was able to check out with a "balance on his register" at the end of his shift. The memory brought a smile to his face. Then it was back to reality as he continued to sit in the car staring at the house in front of him. It looked cold and uninviting. His parents were out of town and he would be spending the weekend alone. Reluctantly, he opened the car door and walked to the entry. Once inside, he went straight to his room and turned on his game console, then sat in his recliner to get comfortable. After playing his favorite game, "Duo Animal Park" for a while, the light from the screen began to get brighter and brighter until it was almost blinding. That was the last thing Josh remembered until he started to wake up on the floor in a strange place where a voice kept repeating "Escape from the Maze". After a few minutes, he woke up enough to realized he was in an empty room. The only thing in there was a screen on the wall that had a picture and a sign that read: Through the door is the land of the Rabb-Aroo. It has a hill of hay, a valley of trees and grassy knolls. Climb up and down and up and down again, But don't let the animals there catch you... "Unless you like big "HUGS" of course!" When Josh didn’t get up, the voice said, “Time is running out,” so you had better hurry or you will loose the game... Then a door opened slowly on the other side of the room. Really fast music began to play and since Josh like to play games on his computer, he rush towards the door which had already begun to close. He made it through the door just before it slammed shut behind him. This story will continue next week!
