The plate my son held went crashing to the floor,
Will I be compassionate or yell with a loud roar.
A driver splashed water on my brand new dress,
Will I be tolerant or show anger and distress.
When someone says something that causes me pain,
Will I be merciful or filled with tears and disdain.
Without even a call my boyfriend showed up late,
Will I be understanding or cancel our date.
My daughter came home after a fight at school,
Will I be sympathetic or angry she broke a rule.
When I've been mistreated I tried to even the score,
Will the Lord be forgiving, yes and so much more.
